In 2018 my husband and I decided to do something our family members had never done -buy a house. As first generation Americans, we’re used to going into things without a blueprint. After looking at what felt like a million houses, our offer got accepted for a lovely ranch style house in the midwest – that’s how First Gen House came to be.
Our parents immigrated to the United States from Mexico and Central America in pursuit of the American Dream. We are keeping that dream alive and bringing you along for the journey. You can expect small DIY projects and full blown home renovations. Prepare for a little bit of chaos as we tackle one corner at a time.
